Accessibility fund call for projects
The federal government recently announced the opening of the Canadian communities and workplaces Enabling Accessibility Fund call for projects.
The projects selected will receive up to $ 100,000 for the construction, renovation or redevelopment of premises or the installation of accessibility equipment, for current or future employees in workplaces, or citizens in community spaces.
The program provides funding for eligible investment projects that increase accessibility for people with disabilities in communities and workplaces in all regions of the country so that they can participate in community activities, programs and services or access employment opportunities.
Member of Parliament for Comptonstanstead and Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-claude Bibeau, invites all community-based organizations, small and medium-sized businesses with fewer than 99 employees and municipalities in the region to submit an application for this program. "It is essential that people with disabilities or those with limited mobility have every opportunity to contribute to the labor market and to benefit from community services. Compton-stanstead is a large constituency that includes 36 municipalities and the projects that will be submitted will further energize our communities, "said MP Marie-claude Bibeau.
Community-based organizations, SMES and municipalities in the region are therefore invited to submit their project, according to its nature, in the following components: the small projects component, the mid-sized projects component or the Youth innovation component, which is aimed for young people aged 15 to 30 with a maximum funding of up to $ 10,000.
The deadline to submit a project is July 26, 2018. For more information, visit https://www.canada.ca/en/employmentsocial-development/programs/enablingaccessibility-fund.html or call 819-347-2598.
