Our last meeting was on May 14 at the Elie Carrier Center. We had three visitors accompanying our regular members.

Our president Penny Fowler, started the meeting before lunch by wishing a good day to all, reading a few stories and jokes. Ellen Bailey also had jokes for us. In April, Leta Dustin had her 90th birthday. Shirley Desruisseaux got a thank you note from her, thanking us for all the cards she received, 152 in total.

Penny also read an article from The Montreal Gazette about a pill that would help with incontinence. It’s called Urivarx. I phoned the 1-800 number and discovered it’s more to register and buy the pill not just for information. A bit complicated. Penny also gave a mini conference on the different types and symptoms of arthritis.

Members having their birthday in May and June were James Bailey, Ernestine Whipple, Patricia Howe, Mary Lessard and Janet Bolton.

Door prizes went to Monika Bouchy Picon, Barbara Bellows, Penny Fowler, Suzanne Martin, Mary Lessard, Janet Bolton, Sue Nichols and Doris Beaudin. Participation winners were Anne Vissel and Ketha Woodman.

Our September meeting is at the Elie Carrier Center, on September 18 at 11 a.m. The lunch, shepperd’s pie, will be served at noon as usual. As usual someone will be phoning to remind you of the meeting at the Elie Carrier Center.

Penny Fowler, President Suzanne Martin, Secretary
