Mcgillis and Dandin named Provigo, Robert Lafond Bishop's Athletes of the Week

Aidan Mcgillis (Vankleek Hill, Ont./vankleek Hill Collegiate) of the women's soccer team and Arnaud Dandin (Paris, France/cégep de Thetford) of the football team are the Provigo, Robert Lafond Bishop's University Athletes of the Week for the week ending in Sept. 16th.

Mcgillis led the Gaiters in their 0-0 draw with Sherbrooke and in their 2-1 loss to Concordia this past weekend. The fifth year Environmen­tal Science student came back from injury to play 90 minutes of both games. The captain was a cross bar away from tying the game against Concordia.

Arnaud Dandin (Paris, France/cégep de Thetford) had seven punts for an average of 45.7 yards in the Gaiters 42-2 loss to St. Francis Xavier on Saturday afternoon in Antigonish, N.S. He had a long of 57 yards.

Up Next:

Mcgillis and the women's soccer team will be back on the pitch on Fri. Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. against Mcgill in Montreal.

Dandin and the Gaiters have a bye this week, but will be back in action for homecoming on Sept. 29th at 2 p.m. against Mount Allison.

Honorable Mentions:

Andrew Cook (Lacrosse) – He went 6-5 on face-offs this past weekend. The Gaiters lost to Trent 13-6 and Queen's 169. Meagan Parsons (Women's Rugby) – She was a dominant factor for the Gaiters in their 135-0 loss to No.3 Laval on Saturday afternoon.
