The Lennoxville Youth Center will be hosting a Benefit Mechoui Supper and Silent Auction on October 27 at the A.N.A.F Unit # 318 (The Hut), 300 St. Francis, Lennoxville in order to raise funds for their Teen Activity Committee and their activities and projects fund. The Canadian Federation of University Women, Sherbrooke and District, is pleased to welcome Jeanne-mance Blais, our first guest of this season, on Wednesday, October 10, 8 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 256 Queen St., Sherbrooke. Speaker’s Program: Ms. Blais, a specialist in teaching English as a second/foreign language, will share her six-month work experience with the Aga Khan Education Foundation in training English teachers in the Pamir region of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. She will also discuss the many aspects of the Foundation’s contribution towards improving the lives of people in some of the most remote areas of Asia and in Africa. Everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served. This will be preceded by a potluck dinner and a general assembly during which new members will be presented.
