P.O Homer Mitchell Blackwood RCAF Age when endlisted:

20 years. Served as a pilot officer in the RC.A.F When the war ended, he returned to his home town Knowlton, QC, where he again served by being elected 6 times as mayor of the town of Brome Lake, QC. He passed away while still in office in 1999 at the age of 76.

Also to be remember are his three brothers:

Russell Blackwood – U.S Army Air force Marcus Blackwood – Canadian Army William Blackwood – Royal Canadian Navy

They all returned home safely and are now deceased.
