Yamaska Valley Optimists Christmas Angels

-

Our Christmas Angels are back! For many years now, the Yamaska Valley Optimists have helped to make the season a little brighter for those who are less fortunate through its Angel Program. In conjunction with schools and community organizations and with the help of local businesses, the Yamaska Valley Optimists Club can distribute Christmas gifts to needy recipients, many of these, children.

Anyone interested in being a Christmas Angel can visit participating retailers, either in Knowlton, Sutton, or Cowansville, and select a paper angel, which contains specific information such as age, gender, size, and interests. Using the information provided, they then purchase a gift, wrap it, making sure to attach the paper angel and return it to the same retailer where the angel was selected. The Yamaska Valley Optimist Club members will then distribute the gifts, making sure the recipients receive them before Christmas. This year, 220 Holiday wishes are available.

Paper angels will be available as of November 10 and can be picked up in Knowlton at Barnes General store, De la Ferme a la Table, Depanneur Rouge and La Vie Sucree. In Sutton, angels can be picked up at Pharmacy Brunet, and in Cowansville at Nettoyeur Houle and Tigre Geant. All gifts must be brought back to the retailers by December 9.

There are people in our communities who are struggling and the holiday season can be particularly challenging. You kindness will undoubtedly help making their Christmas a little brighter and reaffirm the generosity that exists in our communities.

Thank you.
