On Tuesday, the City of Magog awarded its annual grants to sports, cultural, socio-recreation, and community organizations on its territory. In total, $88,550 was given to 25 organizations. Of that amount, $19,586 comes from Gestion Multi-loisirs, a nonprofit organization that until recently managed a number of service outlets (bars and snack bars) located in the Baiede-magog park, the Plage des Cantons, and the arena, which donates a portion of profits to the City every year.

The agreement between the City and Gestion Multi-loisirs ended in 2018 and Mayor Vicki-may Hamm thanked the volunteers who were at the helm of the organization during last few years. "They accomplished their mission with flying colors and their work deserves to be highlighted". She added that the end of this agreement will not affect the financial support that the different organizations will receive in the coming years.

The awarding of grants is part of Magog's Community, Cultural, Sporting and Socio-recreational Organizations Recognition Policy, which aims to support partner organizations in fulfilling their mission and fostering the diversity of activities offered to the public.

All grant applications were studied by the members of the Sports and Community Life Committee and endorsed by the municipal council.
