fair exhibitions, an outstanding example of light and heavy horses in various hitches and a wide variety of demonstrations including blacksmithing, metal art, soap making, chainsaw sculpting, increased food concessions and a much-improved midway with several new rides for young and old, organizers are quite satisfied with the 163rd edition.

"We had a dynamic team of directors and volunteers," commented Donald Beard, vice-president. “Attendance was up to our expectations going over the ten thousand mark with Saturday's crowds bringing the numbers up. Our heartfelt thanks go to one and all, directors, sponsors, volunteers, exhibitors and especially all the folks who came out to enjoy the fair," he added. The pulling track was busy all weekend with competitions including modified lawn tractors, pick-ups, tractors and the popular Sunday afternoon demolition derby. Crowds in the arena for the horseshows were greater than usual, stables were filled and it would be safe to say this was one of the best county fairs this year. "We were especially lucky with the weather considering all the warnings about that wicked hurricane Dorian. A bit of rain that barely settled the dust was all we got. Temperatures were neither too hot nor cold and that can make a big difference in attendance," Beard concluded.
