rom September 12 to November 2, 2019, The Bruck Museum will present the collective exhibition “Tel un « FILON » d’or”, featuring some forty artists who offer a range of creations with the theme “FILON” explored through different artistic practices. The opening will take place on Saturday, September 14 at 2 p.m. at the Bruck Museum, 225 Principale St., Cowansville.
The traditional autumn collective exhibition continues the thematic series started last year with the exhibition “Au “FIL” du temps” .
The artists will work with a series of five keywords. Whether they are painters, sculptors, engravers, photographers or ceramists, all the ideas involving the words FIL, FILON, TISSU, FIBRE, and TEXTILE will be allowed and will be used as successive themes for the collectives of autumn from 2018 to 2022.
The exhibition Tel a “FILON” d’or is the second exhibition of this thematic series that will end in 2022 with the keyword “TEXTILE”. While maintaining visual arts programming, the Bruck Museum showcases Cowansville’s textile heritage and its historic connection to the Bruck Silk Mills, established in 1922.
This year the Bruck Museum is holding the first edition of the “Le Filon D’OR” auction, a fundraiser for the Museum that will take place during the exhibition, from September 12 to October 12. The public is invited to participate in an incognito auction, which aims to support the activities of the Museum and also recognize the talent of regional artists.
The Promenade des Arts, traditionally connected to the group exhibition, will take place on Sunday, September 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The artists and craftspeople registered for this event will exhibit their creations during a day of arts and outdoor festivities on Cowansville’s Principale Street. The Bruck Museum, supported by the City of Cowansville, is proud to join this event.
