Mcburney, Jan Graham, Wayne Nutbrown, Sid Aulis, Bruce Patton, are also part of the story and I am sorry if I missed mentioning anyone,” he stressed.

Willie Fisk enjoys being part of jam sessions – just sitting around with a bunch of musicians and having good musical fun. His basement has been known to have many of those jam sessions throughout the years with Peter Mackey, Chris Drew, Wendell Phelman, Jeff Bray, Philip Patton and many others.

“For 20 years, each June 24th weekend we travelled to my brother-in-law’s, Aubrey Graham, in Renfrew Ontario for a weekend of music jamming with many musicians from that area and from the townships,” he said about these special days that he loves.

Fisk truly enjoys his time playing in the Country Swingers band with Dave Bessant (his mentor), Ron Haseltine and Art Little. In the coming months they will be playing at the Ives Hill Community Hall, New Year’s Eve in Bury, as well as future bookings at the Beebe Town Hall and Sawyerville.

He also plays bass in the Movin’ On band with Dareth Fowler, Dave Bessant and Rick Laroche keeping busy more than ever. But something he never thought would happen is to be a recipient of the Music Achievement Awards.

“When I received the call from Pat Neil I was pleasantly surprised and humbled. I play my music because I love doing it with never having the thoughts of any award. I’m just a guy loving to play, have fun doing it and yes making mistakes so I keep on practicing. My plans for the future are easy, I want to spend time with family, enjoy the music I love, to keep playing my bass and to keep practicing. With my cutting back on renovation work, I now have more time for music, which from a young age has always been in my soul. Life’s a Dance,” he said.
