Bulwer Golden Agers

September 17 - On a beautiful afternoon the Bulwer Golden Agers started their season.

Games of Skip-bo were played. Beverly Cote won 2 games and Mary Simons, 1 game.

Carpet Bowling was played. Red Team was Doris, Allen, Alberta and Carol. Black team was Rejean, James, Jean and Sheila. Ken was a spare in 2nd game. Red team won both games.

9 tables of 500 were played. Ladies 1st Glenda Huff, 2nd Isabel Nelson and low was Jean Rourke. Men 1st Clayton Lackie, 2nd Stan Brown and low was Clyne Macdonald.

A delicious meal was prepared and served by Peggy, Leigh, and girls. Eighty-four people sat down to a meal of pork loin, gravy, applesauce, potatoes, carrots, peas, squash, coleslaw, homemade rolls, pickles, tea, coffee and cherry cheese cake for dessert. A very delicious meal. Grace was said by Bob Halsall.

Prizes were won by Helen Hodge, James Andrews, Joanne Roberge, Paulette Painter, Gilles Tanguay, Cindy Tanguay, Alberta Crawford, Bruce Batley, Janet Casteur, Norma Gill, Rena Halsall.

Honorary certificat­es were given to Ben Hodge and Joanne Roberge.

A thank you note was read by Keith from Louise Peasley.

Diane Grenier, from Centre d”action Benevole spoke to the group. Someone will come to talk to the group on defibrilla­tors sometime in the future.

Everyone seemed to have an enjoyable afternoon and much chatter went on throughout the afternoon. Thanks to Peggy, Leigh and the kitchen crew.

Next meeting will be October 1, 2019. See you all then.
