were very popular at the time). This would keep him working steady. He did it.

“One night I was performing at the Hotel Chicoutimi in their piano bar when a customer gave me his card. That guy was working for Eldon associates, the biggest booking agency in Montreal. That agent took care of the booking for the ten Auberge des Gouverneurs in Quebec. This turned out to be a 10 year gig for me” Lauture said.

Setting aside all the other instruments he had learned, he started mastering piano working at Auberge des Gouverneurs as well as at the Holiday Inn. His services were also often required in Montreal to back up artists such as Martin Stevens, Pierre Perpall, Michel Stax, Billy Martin and many others.

His early musical influences came from Ray Charles, Nat King Cole and Tom Jones until 15 years ago, when he shared the stage with a musician, who introduced him to country music.

“The first time I heard Alan Jackson I knew this was it. My discovery of traditional country music as well as today’s hits made me want to include it in my repertoire. Today my playlist includes as much country as any other genre” he said.

Marc Lauture is a multi-instrumentalist and an extremely versatile performer. He is a first class entertainer and making music is all he ever wanted to do. You can hear him on Fridays and Saturdays at Jack’o Restaurant in Rock Forest playing from 6:00 to 9:00 pm as well as in Burroughs Falls Dance Hall, a few months a year on Sunday afternoons.
