A celebration of fall and rural art
The 12th edition of RURART will be held at La Généreuse farm in Cookshire-eaton. RURART is an artistic residency that brings art out of the city and out of traditional institutions (galleries, museums, theatres, etc.) and introduces it to a rural environment. In doing so, RURART puts agricultural territories first in its experimenting and artistic research.
The event offers a unique form of presentation to its spectators, which matches the artists’ creative process. The public is invited to follow an artistic path through farm areas. In doing so, they discover the location where the artists created and were inspired. The residency takes place every season.
The upcoming event will take place next Oct. 12 and 13 and will welcome six artists from different disciplines.
Surrounded by the fall scenery for eight days, the participating artists will create in contact with nature. On Saturday and Sunday, their creations will be presented to the public.
The event brings together Mariechantale Béland and Audrée Faucher (contemporary dance, Quebec), Maxime Dugas (theatre, Montreal), Geneviève Kiliko (visual art and voice, Sherbrooke), Camille Lacelle-wilsey (contemporary dance, Montreal) and Annabelle Guimond-simard (visual art and overhead, Quebec).
Tickets for the event cost $27 for adults, $22 for artists and students and $15 for children.
The event includes the show, homemade soup, and a campfire.
