Order of the Eastern Star donates to Mental Health Estrie
The year comes to an end in October for the Worthy Grand Matron and the Worthy Grand Patron of Quebec for the Order of the Eastern Star. This past year the Worthy Grand Matron was Janet Patch, who lives in Mansonville. The seven chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star, three of which are in the Township region, banded together to support the provincial project this year, Mental Health Estrie, which has its headquarters in Sherbrooke.
At the banquet held in Granby at the Hotel Castel on Thursday night, close to sixteen thousand dollars was given to the founders of Mental Health Estrie, Rev. Lynn Ross and his wife Judy Ross. They were emotional in their acceptance of the funds. They knew the project was the focus for the Order of the Eastern Star, but the amount raised was a surprise.
Mental Health Estrie is a non-profit, community organization that is committed to helping English-speaking families in the Estrie and surrounding areas to help manage the impact of mental illness. The organization provides support, information, and education to family and friends.
Janet Patch has completed her year with Robert Weidner, who was the Worthy Grand Patron. Together they represented Quebec at many events in the province and in Ontario and the northern states. A sign of respect for these two people was the large number of out of province delegates who attended the two-day conference in Granby.

We thought his latest photo of a duck at sunset on Brome Lake was perfect celebration of the colours and landscape of our beautiful region at this time of year.
