CHUS Foundation covering TV costs for Fleurimont and Hôtel-dieu patients

Among the measures to slow the spread of COVID-19, visits to hospitals are currently prohibited, which limits the possibilities of entertainment for patients.

In order to reduce the negative impact on patients, the CHUS Foundation, in collaboration with the supplier Location Ima-tel Inc. is covering the fees for television services as of March 30 for a period to be determined.

People who are hospitalized for a short period of time will have access to 40 channels to take their mind off things, and patients will be able to access both French and English language content. “We also hope that this will allow us to limit movement within the facilities and reduce the risk of contamination,” added Clermont.

On March 21, Mr Clermont announced that the CHUS Foundation would remain available to respond to the needs expressed by the CIUSSS de l’estrie-chus team, even though they extended beyond the Foundation’s mission.

“The current situation is creating new needs for our clientele and we want to do our part to improve the quality of life of people affected directly or indirectly by the pandemic,” added the director of the Foundation.

The Foundation has also set up a special COVID-19 fund for all those who wish to participate in supporting the medical teams who work day and night to provide the public with the best possible care.
