cowboy hat down to the bridge of my nose so that I couldn’t see all the crowd. To this day I still do that. That was the beginning of many great years of jamming, meeting new friends and so many talented musicians. I even had the pleasure of having my mom get up and sing with my brother and I.”

He played in a band on a couple of occasions with Mister Sam, the man that started it all at their kitchen table when he was a kid. He even got to play in a band with his two uncles. For the musician, those are all memories that he will never forget.

“As bands became more frequent and band members became scarcer, I parted ways with my brother’s band and went the duo route. That chapter also gave me the honor of meeting and playing with so many talented vocalists. The years flew by and my duo partners also changed from time to time,” he said about his decision to follow a different avenue.

He worked with different girl singers until one Labor Day weekend in 2013 when he had a wedding gig booked and no one available to sing with him. One of his singers gave him the name a young lady who could most likely do the job.

‘Through pure luck I was able to track her down and contact her. I explained my situation and she kindly agreed to come for a practice,” he said. “At the time, she sang mostly in church, which explains why she has the voice of an angel. First song we tried was ‘Blue Roses’ by Pam Tillis, she sang three words and it gave me goosebumps, I stopped the song and said ‘you’re hired’”

Seven years later, they are still playing music together, and Patrick thinks he can safely say that it is a passion for both of them. They created the duo, ‘Double or Nothing’, Mike Patrick and Kylie Cote. They sure became a great team and fans can vouched for that.

“Things have been crazy for all these years, he said. “Thanks to Kylie, the most memorable night of music was an all acoustic gig, we worked so hard, for this was out of our comfort zone. I soon became passionate with finger picking and our harmonies were developing so well.”

“The night came, we were the main act at the Acoustic Village in Knowlton. It went great, and when the last song ended, it was then that the best memory of my musical adventures occurred. A standing ovation. We were floored, it felt so humbling, my eyes filled with tears as the people chanted for an encore. I will never forget that night”

Patrick is grateful for his late parents and appreciative for his siblings supporting and encouraging him and his music. He is also thankful for all his music partners from the past but especially for Kylie Cote who made music a passion for him again.

“But most of all, thank you everyone who comes out to see and hear us do what we love doing,” he said of his fans who support him all the time. You will eventually catch them playing somewhere as soon as these trying times are over. Stay safe everyone!
