Global Excel offers free access to online COVID-19 triage tool

-

Leveraging its 35 years experience as experts helping travellers in need of care, Globel Excel has created an adapted version of the Standbymd triage tool to help support the people of Quebec during the COVID-19 crisis.

The COVID-19 version of the company’s Standbymd directional care platform is now available 24/7 from the comfort of people’s homes.

Using a computer, tablet or cellphone, the Standbymd COVID- 19 Virtual Assitant gives peace of mind by allowing users to self-assess their current health situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Powered by artificial intelligence technology, the platform asks questions on the user’s age, gender, risk factors, symptoms and place of residence. As a result, users are instantly presented with a recommended course of action within local guidelines, including links to local resources or telemedicine consultations. With the outbreak of COVID-19, Global Excel believes that this tool can help alleviate the overburdened healthcare systems, local contact centers and assistance centers around the world.

The tool is available in four languages (French, English, Spanish, German) and is also being used by clients located around the world.

According to Steve Mcclung, Senior Vice-president, Innovation and Technology at Global Excel, the company’s vision is to simplify and transform access to quality healthcare around the world for everyone. “Our mission is to make a difference in people’s lives. If we prevent one single person from going to an ER and getting infected, which subsequently prevents them from infecting others, or worse from them succumbing to the disease, we have done well. The added value of our tool is life, whether the user’s or a fellow citizen’s,” he commented.
