CHUS Foundation lobster dinner nets $30,226
In a season where normal annual fundraisers have been cancelled left, right, and center, the CHUS Foundation is reporting that its modified lobster dinner just raised $30,226. Adapted to a home-delivery format, the activity attracted 438 participants.
Although eating lobster in isolation at home does not being with it the same atmosphere and social environment of the usual fundraising dinner, the organizers of this year’s edition said that the event proved popular nonetheless.
“Since the start of the pandemic, the CHUS Foundation has been reviewing its ways of doing things. We are proud that so many people have responded positively to our call for this activity which will benefit children cared for or followed in the pediatrics department of Fleurimont Hospital,” said Martin Clermont, Executive Director of the CHUS Foundation.
All the profits from this activity will be used to acquire a Nitronox, a device for mixing gases with relaxing properties (nitrous oxide and oxygen) that are administered to patients before short-term surgery. Since Nitronox is portable, it offers greater flexibility of use and ease of administration; which is ideal in pediatrics.
The CHUS Foundation has also set up a special COVID-19 fund for all those who wish to support the medical teams working day and night in order to provide us with the best possible care. The Foundation is aware that the financial situation of a large part of the population is currently uncertain, but those who wish can contribute to this fund by the following link: www. jedonneenligne.org/fondationchus/ COVID19/
