The latter is a history lesson covering more than a century of cultural and religious diversity in the city. According to David Lacoste, participants will learn more about Plymouth Trinity Church, St. Michael’s Cathedral and the Old Synagogue.

In a phone interview, Lacoste, the museum’s general manager since last fall, said that the tour is only offered in French. There isn’t a demand for English, he explained, but if that changes, they’ll act accordingly.

“We used to provide a bilingual audio tour in the Vieux-nord, but our guide prefers to do it in French,” he added.

In the past, Lacoste continued, they offered audio equipment for walking tours along Wellington. Unfortunately, with COVID-19 still present, he doesn’t feel comfortable distributing headsets to every person on the walk.

A tour guide with four summers under their belt will lead the tour every

Friday morning at 10:15 a.m. and every second Saturday at the same time, according to Lacoste. The museum is restricting tour numbers to three family units and a maximum of eight people.

Tours last around 90 minutes and cost $5 per adult. Lacoste said that he would switch between Les belles du Nord and D’un clocher à l’autre every week so people need to consult https:// mhist.org/matinees-decouvertes/ to find out what is available.

Townshippers interested in participating in a walking tour are also asked to use the website to reserve spots. In following with the Quebec government’s health and safety rules, people are asked to maintain physical distance, however, masks are not obligatory.
