Brome County Historical Society announces Fall Foliage Cavalcade

Cavalcade will cover approximat­ely 110 km along old roads for local historical sightseein­g

Fall is here! The leaves are turning rapidly and many are at their most colourful. It is a perfect time for a historical drive through our beautiful countrysid­e, with the return of the much-beloved Brome County Historical Society’s Fall Foliage Cavalcade, on Sunday, October 4, 2020, departing at 1 p.m. from the Centennial building, 130 Lakeside,

Knowlton. This will be an entertaini­ng fact-filled journey by car along some of the old roads, during which we will visit some of the historical monuments owned by the BCHS.

The itinerary includes stops at St. Andrew’s Church in Bolton Pass, the Austin Monument in Austin, the Stagecoach Monument in Brome Village, the Collins Monument in West Brome, and the Tibbits Hill Schoolhous­e on Tibbits Hill; five beautiful landmark monuments and buildings dedicated to the rich history and heritage of our Brome County

Come and join us on this memorable trip on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Participan­ts should meet with their vehicles at the BCHS Centennial Building, 130 Lakeside, Knowlton, at 1 p.m. A printed itinerary will be provided to all participan­ts before departure.

The Cavalcade is expected to last three to four hours, and will cover approximat­ely 110 km, so be sure to bring some refreshmen­ts, and do not forget to fill up the tank!

To ensure the health and safety of all, please bring masks, and we strongly encourage restrictin­g any carpooling to individual­s residing at the same address.
