Adult Education returns to Stanstead!

-

For a second year, Phelps Helps is partnering with New Horizons, Distance Education, and the Sunnyside CLC to increase the accessibility of Adult Education in

Stanstead.

Although the pandemic cut last year short, the Adult Ed classes are officially back. With an open classroom, students from the Stanstead area registered at

New Horizons or Distance Education can access the support of a qualified teacher without driving to Sherbrooke. The class remains drop-in style to accommodate a part-time schedule, and is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to offer support for full-time students as well.

In its first year, the participants of the pilot program ranged from 18 to 58 years old, were predominantly anglophone and with various employment statuses. The diversity of participants is a testament to the potential of this program as well as its versatility.

There are many ways to complete your high school diploma. If not the traditional path, New Horizons and Distance Education offer both parttime and full-time options and are flexible when it comes to making work to your schedule.

Are you interested in going back to school but aren’t sure what option is best for you? The Compass program can help guide you through the process of making a schedule that works for you. For more information, contact Elizabeth Courchesne at ecourchesne@ phelpshelps.ca.
