Star Café welcomes in a new owner Richard Pilon will be stepping down as owner of the iconic

Unfortunat­ely the pandemic has affected yet another yearly tradition. The Knowlton Lion’s Club have announced that the 2020 Remembranc­e Day celebratio­n at Knowlton Academy and the Veterans breakfast has been cancelled. The town of Sutton is going forward with an abridged version of

Knowlton restaurant after 16 years of turning Star Café into one of the most popular restaurant­s in Knowlton. Pilon navigated the café through the tremulous months of the pandemic their ceremony that will take place at 10:45 a.m. at the parc des Vétérans. The crowns and crosses will be laid in advance between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Several chairs will be set up, and physical distancing and mask wearing will be necessary. A new plaque will be unveiled on Remembranc­e Day at the and ensured that the business was able to continue with different hours, adapted menus and the always-present drive to keep serving the people of TBL. In other news, Boulangeri­e Lace and the family of Gwen Badham are collaborat­ing on a poppy fundraiser for the Knowlton Legion. The first rest. Pilon will be succeeded by new owner Patrick Plouffe. 100 people who bring in a coloured drawing of a poppy will be given a cookie and the Badham family will donate $1 to the Knowlton poppy drive. The submitted poppy pictures will be displayed in the store. The deadline is Nov. 11.
