Tanya is a full-time nursing student enrolled at Champlain College. Besides her mono-parental duties and part-time work, she volunteers in the community being actively involved on the Champlain Student Council, as well as helping out with the Meals-on- Wheels program at the Lennoxville Community Aid Centre. For her, scholarships like those offered by the Lampe Foundation provide her with motivation to continue with her studies especially in times of selfdoubt. Her eventual goal is to work in the emergency and intensive care units at Sherbrooke’s hospitals. An anglophone by birth, her talent for learning new languages has helped her become fluently bi-lingual in both official languages. She sees herself continuing to advocate for patients

I’m studying at Champlain Regional College to become a Nurse. I want to become a Nurse because one of my main goals in life is to make life better for those around me. I want to help improve health in all spheres and help people get more out of life. All that said, for now I’m a student at school full time and working part time to pay/save for school. The Lamp Foundation has helped me by giving me the freedom to not work during the week so that I can focus on my studies and hopefully become a better nurse.

when they are at their most vulnerable especially when receiving healthcare information in French.

I am very grateful to have received the Lampe Foundation Tillotson Champlain Nursing Scholarship. Thank you for your kindness, this scholarship has allowed me to relieve financial stress and focus on school, it will help me pay my schooling for the next few years as well as for transportation to school considering I live an hour away.

Throughout my three years at Champlain in nursing I will always be thankful for this scholarship. After college at Champlain, I plan on going to university to further my degree in nursing. My goal is to become a paediatric nurse when I finish school. Working with kids is my passion now and I continue to have the same passion everyday.

Commemorative Scholarship I’m from Lennoxville Quebec and have been a part of 4-H for 11 years now. And I am going into my second year as re-elected president. This past year it has been a struggle with COVID-19 to make sure that all our members stay safe while still showing 4-H spirit. Since this is my last year of a three-year program called Farm Management and Technology at Macdonald College of Mcgill University, upon graduation I wish to continue my education at the University level with a focus in agriculture. Since there is an increasing growing world population agriculture is going to be essential. And I aspire to be a part of this important industry.

With the support I have received from

Morgan Passmore
