News from the Team at Eastern Townships Adult General Education (ETAGE)
The regional team Eastern Townships Adult General Education (ETAGE)* has been working tirelessly during the pandemic to ensure a continuous and accessible service offering for mature students in the region. Not only have they been able to maintain their student population during the pandemic, but they have also been able to attract many new students, as well as increase the number, and diversity, of the classes and programs that they offer. ETAGE classes are offered in several formats and, as has always been the case with ETSB adult education centres, schedules and academic support options are flexible and adaptable to the realities of adult learners.
Whether you want to improve your language skills, finish your high school degree, prepare for a better career, or get some support finding a job, the Eastern Townships Adult General Education has a solution for you. And if you are looking for new learning opportunities or to make a change right now, ETAGE is accepting registrations for its summer semester. To learn more, visit the ETSB website at www.etsb.qc.ca and select the “Adult & Vocational Education” option at the top of the homepage. You’ll be able to explore all ETAGE’S current offerings, and to register, through this site. ETAGE and the ETSB have made a few recent changes to their website to improve accessibility, so registering for courses is now easier than ever! at
ETSB On the Road
In addition to their enrollment offerings, ETAGE has partnered with Yamaska Literacy Council (YLC) to organize a series of educational workshops that support adults with their transition into education. This initiative has been named “ETSB On the Road” because it offers workshops and activities through Zoom, but also in satellite locations in Mansonville, Bedford, and Waterloo. Both ETAGE and YLC are passionate advocates for lifelong learning and their dedication and continual efforts have changed the lives of many mature learners throughout the region. The next workshop on the “ETSB On the Road” schedule is “Budgets: What funds are available?”, which will take place on Wednesday, May 19 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. During the month of May, “ADHD? Now What?” is also on the schedule, followed by “Learning Styles – 7 Intelligences” in June. To learn more about the “ETSB On the Road” initiative, contact Cindy Elston: cindyelston@yamaskaliteracycouncil.ca or 450-330-0803.
*ETAGE is the parent institution of the Brome-missisquoi Campus in Cowansville and the New Horizons Adult Education Centre in Sherbrooke.
