Theatre Lac-brome is preparing to open its doors this month and the organization is marking the occasion with two special events for the month of July.

First up, on July 17 and 18 there will be a fundraising event for Theatre Lacbrome and they will be presenting a film based on Vittorio Rossi’s play The Chain. The screening will be preceded by a “La Dolce Vita” cocktail dinatoire and followed by a question and answer period with the producer Barry F. Lorenzetti and writer and director Vittorio Rossi. Tickets can either be purchased for the full experience for July 17 at 6 p.m. or just for the film presentation on July 18 at 4 p.m.

A handful of local artists will also be contributing to this fundraising effort by exhibiting their large format paintings in the theatre’s Lobby Gallery. A percentage of their sales will go to Theatre Lacbrome. The exhibit includes artists Michel Beaucage, Odile Cloutier, Isabelle Daval, Michel Gamache and Kylie Sandford.

On July 25 at 3 p.m. francophone duo The Tennessee Two will present their brand new show: Johnny Cash Entre Amis! While maintaining Johnny Cash’s characteristic warmth, intimacy and signature anecdotal style, Mario Dubé and Luc Leblanc will bring audiences to the heart of the friendships maintained by the legendary «Man in Black» during his lifetime. In addition to entertaining the audience with some of the greatest hits of Johnny Cash, the duo will also sing a large number of songs sung as duets with friends such as Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbison and many others.
