December 31, 1946 – June 25, 2021

We are very sad to announce the passing of our dear sister Dodi following a shockingly short battle with cancer. Dodi was born in Glen Cove, New York, the middle daughter of Dr. George Ronald Hornig and Dorothy Jacobs and much loved step-daughter of John P. Macintosh. Left to mourn are her sisters, Dianne Stevenson of Lincolnville, Maine and Debbie Hornig (Tom Selby) of Brome, Quebec. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Tremellen ( Lawson ). Dodi was also a loving aunt to Stacy, Jay, Greg, Jason and Samantha and godmother to Kathleen James.

Dodi was an incredibly people-oriented person with a wicked sense of humour and the biggest heart imaginable. During her lifetime she amassed and nurtured a huge group of friends from Lake Memphremagog, King’s Hall, Endicott Junior College, Montreal General Hospital Nursing, as well as from her 29 year career at Royal Bank of Canada/ Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and afterwards from her Knowlton community, especially her work at Knowlton House.

Aside from her lifelong friends, she also collected a large assortment of furry friends who simply adored her as she took on pet sitting in post retirement. A celebration of her wonderful life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, family and friends are encouraged to make a donation to Dodi’s favourite cause – www.spadescantons.com or to a pet shelter near you.
