The St Francis Valley Naturalist­s’ Club presents: Behind the Lens: Nature Photograph­y. Darren Murphy is a naturalist and photograph­er who will share some of his experience­s locating and photograph­ing elusive birds and animals. In this presentati­on he will concentrat­e on snowy owls and great grey owls. Come and enjoy the photos and perhaps learn some tricks. Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m. at the Centre Communauta­ire Amédée Beaudoin, 10 rue Samuel Gratham, (Lennoxvill­e), Sherbrooke. This presentati­on is free, and everyone is welcome. Note: this is a scent-free event.

The Canadian Federation of University Women-sherbrooke & District will be holding its Public Speaking Competitio­n on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. Ten speakers from three schools, Alexander Galt Regional High School, Bishop’s College School and Stanstead College will participat­e this year. CFUW has had an absence of four years due to Covid and is very pleased to host this event again. We hope you will consider attending and supporting these student speakers. Location is the Hope Community Church, 102 Queen Street, Lennoxvill­e. Access the parking lot from College Street and enter the hall by the rear door.

Lennoxvill­e United Church’s Outreach Team will hold its annual “Service of Hope and Inspiratio­n” at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 6 Church Street, Lennoxvill­e. To dedicate flowers in memory of, or in support of, a loved one touched by cancer or any other such disease, please call F. Noble at 819348-9118 by Wednesday, May 1. Flowers will be generously provided by Cass Funeral Homes. Your donations will be shared between Leucan Estrie’s Shaved Head Challenge and La Maison Aube Lumière in Sherbrooke.
