August 15 major expansion project at Swift Current’s Fairview School, while work at the Ecole Centennial School/All Saints Catholic School remains on schedule for that project to be completed for the start of the 2014-15 school year.

September 12 Hockridge was announced as the 2013 Champion Child for the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan during a ceremony at the Swift Current Walmart last Thursday.

Hockridge will serve as the ambassador of Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan for a series of high profile events over the coming year. This October, Amisha and her family with attend Children’s Miracle Network festivities in Toronto, along with other Champions from across Canada. They will then travel to Disney World in Florida to attend an event with Champions from across North America.

September 26 Cypress Hills Grasslands MP David Anderson has been appointed to serve as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs during a series of parliamentary changes that was announced on Sept. 10.

Anderson was one of 11 parliamentary secretaries to receive a new assignment from Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Previously, Anderson had served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food for the Canadian Wheat Board since February 2006, and in Oct. 2007 he added the extra responsibility as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources. Jade Philippon was all smiles during her head first slide on one of the children's activity structures during Innovation Credit Union's 32nd annual Picnic inn the Park.
