Geroy to speak at Field of Dreams Dinner

The 2014 Swift Current Indians Baseball Club Field of Dreams Dinner presented by Innovation Credit Union is set to take place Friday February 28, 2014 at the Royal Canadian Legion.

The Committee is excited to announce that the evening’s Keynote Speaker will be Grey Cup Champion, Geroy Simon of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Simon joined the Canadian Football League’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1999 as a free agent out of the University of Maryland. In 2001, he signed a free agent contract with the BC Lions where he spent the majority of his pro career donning the black and orange for twelve seasons. He was acquired by the Riders in a trade with B.C. in January, 2013 and became an integral part to the 2013 Grey Cup Championship team. Simon currently sits as the CFL’s all-time leader in career receptions ( 1,029) and receiving yards (16,352 yards).

Simon has won four Grey Cup championships coming in 2004, 2006, 2011, and 2013. He was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player Award in 2006 and was recognized as a CFL All Star on six occasions.

The evening will begin with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 p.m. There will also be live and silent auctions at the end of the evening. Tickets are $60 for single seats or $400 for a corporate table of eight.
