Raiders chasing home wins this week

Bantam AA team dropped three games last week

The Swift Current Bantam Kabos Raiders are in the midst of another busy month in the Saskatchew­an Bantam AA Hockey League.

Saturday, the Raiders dropped a 5-2 loss to the host Saskatoon Stallions. Cayden Price and Brendan Hale scored in the loss with assists from Jesse Wellsch and Caleb Stevenson. The Raiders also visited the Prince Albert Raiders on Sunday. Results were unavailabl­e at press time.

Jan. 4, the Raiders opened a two-game road trip with a 7-3 loss to the Yorkton Terriers. The Raiders trailed 3-0 after one period but scored three goals in the second period to tie the game before allowing four unanswered third-period goals. Tyde Hutchinson scored twice for the Raiders, once on the powerplay, while Price also added a powerplay goal. Hunter Lamb picked up the first assist on all three goals, while Logan Fritzke and Mason Pederson added single helpers.

Yorkton got goals from seven different skaters, including three-point efforts from Carson Miller and Brett Kemp. Jeremy Brumwell suffered the loss in goal as the Raiders were outshot 33-14.

Jan.5, they were shutout 5-0 by the Melville Millionair­es. Josh Soper made 48 saves in the loss as Melville got goals from five different skaters and three assists from Luke Nkwama. A busy month of January continues this weekend when the Yorkton Terriers visit Fairview West Arena at 5:15 p.m. Saturday. The Raiders will also host the Saskatoon Maniacs on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Raiders will then get one day off before hosting the Melville Millionair­es Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Fairview West.
