Our basketball teams have returned to league play after the holiday season. The senior league resumed Jan. 7 with four games.

Shaunavon hosted Maple Creek boys and girls with both home teams posting a victory. The Silhouette­s coasted to a 97-25 win. High scorers for Shaunavon were Becca Hansen with 40 points and Rachel Illerbrun with 17. The Rebels’ Jillian Teichroeb had 15 points. The Shadows also were victorious by a 6752 score. Travis Kirkpatric­k led the Shadows with 21 points while Darryl Rhodes contribute­d 19. Edwin Perrin led the way for the Rebels with 19 points while Graham Gordon contribute­d 13.

The Gull Lake Lady Lions played at home and were the winners by a 43-31 score over the Swift Current Jr. Ardens. Karin Roen led the way for the Lions with 17 points while Montanna Clendennin­g had 10. Kyla Bolton was the Ardens’ top scorer with nine followed by Katie Braun with six.

The Swift Current Junior Colts travelled to Frontier and got the road victory 8148. Mitch Braun had 20 points for the Colts and Nathan Braun followed with 14. The Raiders were lead by Adam Keith with 16 points and Jake Knelson with 10.

There was also a pair of make up games played on Jan. 9 when Maple Creek girls and boys went to Swift Current. Both were extremely close games. The Jr. Ardens came away with a 4139 victory. Shae Barber had 10 points and Kyla Bolton had six for the Ardens. Two players from Maple Creek had 10 points – Sydney Taplin and La Quesha Gyman.

The Maple Creek boys also pulled off a two-point victory 55-53. Leading the way was Kyler Barkman with 15 points and Graham Gordon with 14 for the Rebels. Tyrell Collins replied with 11 for the Colts while Mark Magoto added eight.
