Swift Current Special Olympics Swim Club hosts home meet
The Special Olympics Swift Current Swim Club held its home meet Sunday with swimmers from Saskatoon, North Battleford, Regina, and Humboldt in attendance.
It was an especially good day for the Swift Current women’s team as they ran away with the team title with 485 points, 294 more than the next closest team. The Swift Current men’s team placed fourth in the team standings with 152 points, 121 less than first-place Regina.
Colleen Morstad led the Swift Current team with five first-place finishes in her home pool. She will represent Saskatchewan at the Special Olympics Canada Summer National Games in Vancouver this July.
Joining Morstad on Team Sask at nationals will be Clayton Gauthier. He posted one first-place, two second-place, and two fifth-place showings on Sunday.
Melody Radicki is an alternate with Team Sask. She posted two secondplace and two third-place showings on Sunday.
