Midget 57’s fall to visiting Red Sox
The host Swift Current 57’s lost both games to the visiting Muenster Red Sox Sunday to fall to 0-4 in the Saskatchewan Premier Midget AAA Baseball League this season.
The 57’s lost the opener 19-2 when they allowed runs in five of seven innings, including an 11-run seventh inning. The 57’s were out-hit 12-7 but made eight errors to compound their problems.
The 57’s scored in the first inning when Logan Fritzke tripled and then scored on a Dayne Stenson triple. They added the second run when Brayden Matkowski singled and eventually scored on a fly ball from Fritzke.

Stenson took the loss, allowing one hit, four walks, and one unearned run over two innings.
The 57’s fell behind 2-0 but tied the game in the sixth inning when Ayden Annala was hit by a pitch to plate Hunter Johnson and
Brock Wall followed with a walk to bring home Riley Hughes.
The Red Sox scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning when they combined an error with a walk, two stolen bases, and one sacrifice fly to bring home Jayden Huls.
The Midget 57’s will be on the road for the first time on Wednesday when they visit the Regina Athletics.
