Association of Saskatchewan Realtors celebrate success and community
The Association of Saskatchewan Realtors® hosted another successful fundraising event in Regina on April 25. The REALTOR® Rock presented by A Buyer’s Choice Home Inspections raises funds for the Quality of Life Legacy Fund – an initiative that provides grants to charitable organizations throughout Saskatchewan each year.
The event, which featured REALTORS® and industry partners decked out in their best rock star attire, raised over $20,000 for the fund, ensuring another year of support to six deserving charities.
One of the 2017 Quality of Life grant recipients, and receiving a $5,000 cheque at the ASR Annual General meeting, was Swift Current’s Southwest Youth Emergency Shelter Inc., The shelter assists in the provision of safe, secure shelter and support for youth who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.
“The Quality of Life Legacy Fund is just another way REALTORS® are showing support in their communities,” says Bill Madder, CEO of the ASR. “In the fifth year of this initiative, it is encouraging to see the amazing work these charities have done, and continue to do for people in Saskatchewan, and the ongoing support from the REALTOR® community.”
The event also celebrates REALTOR® success with two awards. This year, we were pleased to honour Len Wassill of Melville with the CMHC Distinguished REALTOR® Award, and Cristin Korchinski of Regina with the Young Professionals Network Rising Star Award. Both awards recognize REALTORS® for their outstanding leadership, dedication and contributions to the REALTOR® community.
