Swift Current Municipal RCMP Detachment calls for service

The following is a synopsis of calls for service as reported by the Swift Current Municipal RCMP.

APRIL 29

2:39 a.m. - report of a black Kia Rio that just left a house party and it is believed the occupants are intoxicate­d. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

4:43 a.m. - report of a grey Ford Edge that just left a house party and it is believed the occupants are intoxicate­d. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicle.

8:40 a.m. - report of a male at a business on the 2600 block of North Service Road W. attempting to sell a stolen vehicle. Officers attended and confirmed the vehicle was stolen and he was also in possession of two stolen Alberta licence plates. 42 year old Sean Tyberg of Medicine Hat has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 under the Criminal Code plus possession of oxycontin under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act.

9:35 a.m. - 911 call from a female stating her friend had stolen her bank card. Her friend said he was going out to purchase beer and groceries but has not returned and that was three hours ago. The female caller sounded intoxicate­d and was slurring her speech. Officers attended the male’s residence and located both the male and female caller inside. The matter was resolved without criminal charges.

2:26 p.m. - report of a laptop being stolen from a location on the 300 block of North Railway St. E. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

7:40 p.m. - request to conduct a wellbeing check on a male in the 100 block of 9th Ave. N.W. Officers attended and the male was home and had been sleeping.

9:15 p.m. - 911 open line from a residence on the 600 block of 9th Ave. N.E. Officers attended the residence and determined there was no emergency, 911 had been dialed by mistake.

APRIL 28

1:03 a.m. - report of a female on the overpass reported to be crying hysterical­ly. Officers attended and located the female who was then transporte­d to the hospital.

Road E. Male driver charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

6:24 a.m. - report of an alarm at a business on the 1800 block of 22nd Ave. N.E. Officers attended the business. Building was secured, alarm was determined to be false.

7:45 a.m. - report of a theft that occurred overnight at business on the 1400 block of South Service Road W. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

7:50 a.m. - report of an alarm at a business on the 500 block of Paterson Drive. Officers attended and determined the alarm to be false.

9:13 a.m. - report from a male who believes he had something slipped into his drink while at a female’s residence in Swift Current. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

11:48 a.m. - report of a white Hyundai Elantra being repossesse­d at a location on the 1100 block of 11th Ave. N.E.

1:25 p.m. - report of a white Suburban driving erraticall­y on 5th Ave. N.E. Officers made patrols and located the vehicle. The female driver had stated she had spilt her coffee while driving. No signs of impairment detected and she was given a verbal warning.

4:25 p.m. - report of a dog in distress in grey Kia Sorento in a parking lot of a business on the 1400 block of North Service Road. E. Officers attended that location. The dog did not appear to be in distress. The vehicle windows were partially down and there was a water dispensary on the floor.

11:19 p.m. - report of female waiting for her boyfriend, who is reported to be on crystal meth, at a business on the 200 block of 1st Ave. N.W. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate the male.

11:38 p.m. - 911 call from a female advising someone threw food on her boyfriend’s vehicle on the 300 block of 10th Ave. N.E. and then drove away eastbound in a black Chevrolet truck and believes they may be intoxicate­d. Officers made patrols but were unable to locate any vehicles matching the descriptio­n of the truck.

APRIL 27

5:12 p.m. - search warrant conducted at a residence on the O block of Central Ave. N. Three persons have been charged in relation to the matter. 46 year old John Gosselink of Swift Current has been charged with possession of methamphet­amine under the Controlled Drugs & Substance Act, possession of a weapon & breach of probation under the Criminal Code & will be appearing in Swift Current Provicial Court April 30. 33 year old Ryan Stensrud of Swift Current has been charged with possession of methamphet­amine under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act, possession of a weapon, and breaching the condition of his undertakin­g under the Criminal Code and will be appearing in Swift Current Provincial Court April 30. A 35 year old female of Swift Current will be charged with possession of hydromorph under the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act.

5:16 p.m. - complaint of a theft of dog. This matter is still under investigat­ion.
