Summer Reading Club launches at the Swift Current Library
An excited group of children noisily settled in for an afternoon of activities at the July 5 launch of the TD Summer Reading Club at the Swift Current Library.
The program runs for the next six Thursday’s until August 16 at the Library starting at 2 p.m.
The TD Summer Reading Club is aimed at children aged two to five. This story-time program includes books, rhyme,s finger plays, crafts and puppet shows.
For the older set, the Maker Kids’ Club meets at 2 p.m. on Thursday’s from July 2 to August 16. This program is aimed at children aged six to 12.
The Maker Kids’ Club session on July 12 will be the second part of a make your own LED Boot.
A special event will be held July 19 when the Saskatchewan Science Centre will present GO! Science. This afternoon is geared towards children in Kindergarten to Grade 6, and gives participants an interactive learning opportunity. The afternoon starts at 1 p.m. with a session With Great Power, followed by Building Better at 2 p.m. and Healthy Planet, Healthy Life at 3 p.m. Participants can attend one or all of the three sessions. July 26 - Make an LED Flashlight.
August 2 - LEGO and Stikbot Stop-motion Animation.
August 9 - LED Butterfly Lanterns.
August 16 - Read to a Donkey, and play with Sphero Bots.
