Chinook School Division Sports Report
FOOTBALL
Gull Lake was in Outlook for their 6 man playoff game on Saturday, Oct. 20. The Lions had a couple of key injuries that took the wind out of their sails. In the end, the final score was 48-14 for LCBI. The Lions are eliminated from the playoffs.
Maple Creek traveled to Fort Qu’appelle for the last league game in their 9 man schedule. They lost a very close game 24-22. The Redmen will go to Nipawin for a quarter final match up on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Shaunavon had a home game against Indian Head for their last league game. The Shadows could not come away with a win, so their season has come to an end.
The Swift Current Comp. Colts played in the Moose Jaw 12 man league semi-final Saturday, Oct. 20. It was a defensive battle, and, unfortunately, the Colts came out on the losing side of an 8-2 score against Moose Jaw Central. This was the final game of the season for the Colts.
SOCCER
Herbert boys were the hosts of 1A boy’s regional on October 20. They defeated Delisle in the semifinal (6-1) and then won an exciting final over the top seed Maymont. The Laurels scored on a penalty kick late in the second half and withstood a last ditch charge by the Maymont team. Herbert is headed to Lake Lenore for the Provincial Championship.
Herbert girls were at the Dalmeny regional. The Laurel’s played Moosomin in the quarter final and won a nail biter 1-0. They faced a tougher challenge next and lost in the semifinal against powerhouse Middle Lake.

FINAL CONFERENCE HOSTS FOR SHSAA VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS
There were quite a few changes to host sites for SHSAA conference volleyball this past week, but things are now finalized. Conferences are the first step to the SHSAA provincial championship. SWAC will host four girl conference volleyball tournaments on Saturday, November 3. Host sites are Consul, Hazlet, Leader and Gull
Lake.
JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL
Our junior volleyball section/ subsection playoffs take place this upcoming week. Top two sectional winners (or first in subsection) will advance to the SWAC Junior Volleyball Championship on Nov. 3.
• Tuesday, Oct. 23, Rolling Hills A boys and will be in Herbert and Whitemud boys will be in Frontier.
• Wednesday, October 24 playoffs include: Rolling Hills B boys at Irwin and Rolling Hills A girls at SCCHS.
• Thursday, October 25 playoffs have Rolling Hills B girls at Miller College (Pambrun) and Cypress Hills Boys in Fox Valley.
• Playoffs happening on Oct 27 are Cypress Hills girls in Cabri, Whitemud girls in Eastend.
