Bantam Broncos split four-game week

The Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos played four games in the Saskatchew­an Bantam AA Hockey League last week and won twice.

They suffered a 3-2 loss to the host Regina Aces on Tuesday to open the week.

Rhett Dekowny and Dayne Feicht scored in the loss with assists from Daniel Ganert, Colton Leahy, Ayden Lemarre, and Nolan Stevenson. Rylan Hildebrand took the loss with 31 saves.

The Broncos finished zero-for-five on the power play, but killed off all seven shorthande­d situations.

Friday, the Bantam Broncos scored in all three periods to defeat the host Notre Dame Hounds 3-1.

Rowan Priebe, Kane Klassen, and Mckale Paul all scored in the win. Lamarre assisted on two goals, while Klassen, Jace Bymoen, and goaltender Colby Watson all added single helpers. Watson made 16 saves in the win as well.

Saturday, the host Estevan Bruins scored the final two goals to defeat the Broncos 5-3.

Carter Lamotte and Bymoen each finished with a goal and an assist. Feicht also scored, while Leahy, Ethan Hopfner, and Ganert all added assists. Hildebrand took the loss with 27 saves on 31 shots.

Sunday, the Broncos returned to the win column with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Yorkton Terriers in a chippy game that featured 120 penalty minutes and 22 power play opportunit­ies.

The Broncos finished two-for-10 with the man-advantage, while Yorkton was one-for-12 on the power play.

Lemarre, Rylan Williams, Ganert and Leahy all scored for the Broncos.

Klassen picked up a pair of assists, while Priebe, Feicht, and Hopfner all added singles. Watson earned the win with 25 saves on 26 shots.

The Broncos improved to 13-11-1-0, while Yorkton fell to 2-22-3-0.

The Bantam Broncos will head east on Sunday to visit the Regina Pat Blues.
