Legionnaires win three road games
The Swift Current Home Hardware Legionnaires won three straight road games in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League last week.
Thursday, a three-goal third period propelled the Legionnaires to a 4-1 win over the host Moose Jaw Warriors.
Riley Dekowny led the way with two goals and one assist, Maguire
Scheidt added a goal and an assist, and Logan Linklater registered two assists. Jakin Lawrence also scored, while Jaxon Martens, Brett Fogg, and Ryan Mccleary all added assists.
Jacob Herman returned from a call-up with the Prince George Cougars to stop 34 shots in the win.
Kirk Mullen scored the Warriors’ only goal, while
Swift Current’s Chase Coward took the loss in net with 28 saves.
Saturday, the Legionnaires scored the only two goals of the third period to edge the Yorkton Maulers 3-2.
Spencer Bell was in on all three goals with a goal and two assists.
Mccleary and Lawrence scored in the third period with assists from Brandon Von Hagen, and Dekowny.
Daitan Dmytriw and Connor Hvidston scored for the Maulers.
Herman earned the win as the Legionnaires outshot the Maulers 26-22.
Sunday, the Legionnaires fired 51 shots on goal in a 4-2 win over the host Notre Dame Argos. Von Hagen and Bell each registered a goal and an assist, while Scheidt added two assists.
Mccleary and Martens also scored. Eric Robbie, Linklater, and Quinn Strang all added assists.
Herman earned the win with 27 saves to improve to 7-2 on the season.
The Legionnaires will be back at home on Nov. 2-3 when they host the Saskatoon Contacts at Fairview West Arena.
