The Southwest Booster

We need each other !!

-

COVID-19 has plunged the globe into unknown and fragile territory.

Since the first COVID-19 case appeared in Saskatchewan on March 12, and following the ensuring public health measures which have been enacted over the recent weeks, we have settled into an uncomfortable ‘new normal’.

Many of our community owned business have been ordered to close. Our recreation facilities are shut down. Daily life is not what it used to be.

Our family, friends and neighbours have been impacted through these business changes. These temporary layoffs are not just statistics, these are real people. Every household has been impacted by the stark reality of what is now a “social distancing economy”.

Despite the challenges, we are grateful that what could be a terrible healthcare disaster has not taken hold across Saskatchewan, and that everyone is banding together to flatten the curve by making responsible daily preventative choices.

As an essential service, The Southwest Booster has continued to publish our weekly edition to bring you accurate and important coverage of provincial and local focussed COVID-19 initiatives. Our two person newsroom boasts a combined 40 years of experience in telling stories that are important to the Southwest.

The Southwest Booster proudly remains the longest serving free distribution newspaper in Southwest Saskatchewan. We pride ourselves on being the lone free distribution product focussed on first and foremost promoting Southwest Saskatchewan ahead of neighbouring communities.

And while we are pulling together in order to protect each other during this unprecedented challenge, The Booster is asking for you to consider supporting us during a time of economic uncertainty. Just as the local business economy has been impacted, we too have felt that impact in our operations.

We are asking you to consider making a one-time contribution in support of local print journalism. This is not a subscription, but a show of your support for the voice The Southwest Booster provides for the entire Southwest.

You can lend your support electronically though the following link (http://www.swbooster.com/ supporting-local-journalism/), or contact the Booster office (306773-9321) where we can process credit cards. Or you can mail in a cheque to:
