Southwest entries place well in Virtual Heritage Fair

Southwest students earned a series of strong placings in the Saskatchew­an Virtual Heritage Fair hosted by Heritage Saskatchew­an.

The Best in the Swift Current Region was the project Life In Our Backyard submitted by Ellise Dyrland and Olivia Dyrland, grade three and grade five students from Kyle. Their project was also judged as the winner in the Most Adorable Animal Display category, along with the second place winner in the Natural Heritage Award.

BEST DISPLAY OF SPORTS MEMORABILI­A - 2nd place, Toronto Maple Leafs, by Colter Folk, Grade 6 student, Swift Current; 3rd place, Bryan Trottier, by Olin Geissler, Grade 6 student, Swift Current.

ARTS AND LEISURE AWARD - 3rd place, The Tunnels of Moose Jaw, by Navy Louma, Grade 6 student, Swift Current.

GENEALOGY (FAMILY HISTORY AWARD) - 1st place, Round & Round, by Sierra Condie, Grade 7 student, Kincaid.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AWARD) - 3rd place, Canadian Space Inventions, by Lukas Kjos, Grade 8 student, Stewart Valley.

ARCHIVES AWARD 1st place, Fortman Family History, by Lacie Blohm, Grade 6 student, Kincaid.
