U15 AA Broncos run roughshod on Hounds

The Swift Current Pure Chem Broncos put 21 pucks in the net during two wins over the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchew­an U15 AA Hockey League over the weekend.

Saturday, the Broncos got back into the win column with an 8-2 road win in Wilcox. Easton Lee led the Broncos with two goals and one assist, followed by a goal and two helpers from Gage Nagel.

Parker Rondeau and Mason Osinski chipped in one goal and an assist each. Kade Stringer, Carter Tuplin, and Hudson Darby also scored. Ryder Rommelaere, Cutter Knight, Peyton Keller, and Jace Egland all added assists. Berney Weston earned the win with 16 saves.

Sunday, the Broncos outshot the Hounds 71-13 en route to a 13-1 win on home ice. Darby led the offensive barrage with three goals and three assists, followed by two goals and three assists from Stringer.

Egland added two goals and one assist, Nagel and Kye Fahselt each registered a goal and two assists, and Lee finished with three assists. Rondeau scored twice, Mason Osinski chipped in a goal and an assist, while Wyatt Mokelki and Rommelaere each had two assists. Brady Simpson, Keller, and Riley Moberg also had solo assists. Eric Smith earned the win with 12 saves on 13 shots.

Mariko Bercier took the loss despite making 44 saves on 53 shots over 40 minutes of action.

The U15 Broncos (2-2-0-1) will face the Regina Aces (22-0-0) this weekend, beginning Saturday in Regina. They will host the Aces on Sunday at 4:15 p.m. at the Innovation Credit Union iplex.
