RAPALA 12 RIPSTOP
Rapala’s new 12 Ripstop measures 12 cm (4.75 in.), can dive 1.2 to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft.) and weighs .5 oz, making it ideal to use for both spinning and baitcasting reels. In fact, according to Rapala pro angler Seth Feider, “The original is a cool bait, but size-wise it was more of a spinning rod and finesse deal for me. The new 12 Ripstop is longer and heavier, so I can throw it on baitcasting gear.” Some highlights include a hard-plastic boot tail to create a hard-rolling, slashing action to mimic a minnow and its design is a mix between a jerkbait, twitch bait and swimbait and immediately suspends in the water after reeling. It’s available in 14 forage-matching colour patterns and has three sticky-sharp No. 5 VMC treble hooks that are made of black nickel to resist saltwater (rinsing after use in saltwater is recommended).
