Taking the Square Down a Peg

LOWERING A RARE CLASSIC

-

Chevy trucks from 197387 have been popular for a while, and there are a ton of reasons why. The thing is, finding one that’s well preserved is becoming more and more difficult; so, when you discover a diamond in the rough, you’ve got to snatch it while you can.

What you’re looking at is a ’73 Chevrolet C-10 with 43,000 original miles owned by the man whose name is synonymous with square-body Chevys, Joe Yezzi. He is, of course, the owner of Squarebody Syndicate, a company dedicated to 1973-87 Chevy trucks, but he has a particular soft spot in his heart for 1973 and 1974 models, since his dad owned one back in the day. When he found this particular truck a year or so ago, he knew he had to add it to his collection, but the price was a bit too high. Joe spent the next year negotiating down the price, and when it was finally a done deal, he had to get a transporter to drive out to the backwoods of Tennessee to bring it home to Arizona.

Which brings us to Switch Suspension in Phoenix. Joe hates leaving anything stock, so he took it down to his friends at Switch to get the job done on his rare find. The plan was to install a new kit that Switch has been tweaking and tuning to perfection throughout the past few months that will bring the truck down to the perfect stance. It’s made using components from Mcgaughy’s and other manufacturers, and it’s low enough to make a statement, yet functional enough to be a daily driver. And for a truck like this, and a guy like Joe, it’s a perfect fit.
