CTP CONCEPTS MAKES IT EASY TO HIDE YOUR AIR RIDE
WHETHER YOU’VE GOT an Accuair air ride management system or are planning on installing one, one thing that many struggle with is where to place the controller. Keeping it on your lap can get old after a while, and we all know what happens when it’s laying on your bench seat and you have to make a sudden stop. Going fishing for the controller while sitting in traffic isn’t ideal.
Of course, many of us have come up with ways to keep our Accuair controllers within arm’s reach, and sometimes those ideas are pretty trick. Other times, they could use some improvement. Somewhere between building something completely from scratch on your own and paying a shop to build something for you lays the CTP Concepts Accuair controller housing. Travis Pruis of CTP has been in the C-10 game longer than some of the new-school youngsters have been alive, and he recently came up with a neat new way to keep your Accuair controller in place and concealed.
The ashtray thing has been done before, but up until now it was pretty much a completely DIY affair and required welding and upholstery skills—possibly both. The CTP Concepts Accuair controller housing eliminates most of the work and requires only a couple of screwdrivers and a handheld grinder, cutoff tool or saber saw. When you’re all done an hour or two later, you’ll have the perfect way to keep your switches at the ready, then stow them when parked or trying to stave off the temptation to mess around.

If you’re wondering why ’67s aren’t listed for this particular housing; well, technically the CTP Concepts housing will work, but there are a couple of extra steps involved since the factory ashtray bracket is spot-welded into place and must be drilled out. Not a big deal, really, but it’s the one thing that keeps this from being a bolt-in affair for ’67s.
