’55-’59 CHEVY/GMC— MORRISON GT SPORT CHASSIS
ART MORRISON ENTERPRISES HAS EXPANDED ITS LINE OF “BOLT-ON” GT SPORT CHASSIS TO INCLUDE THE POPULAR 1955-59 CHEVY “TASK FORCE” SERIES OF PICKUP TRUCKS AND ITS GMC COUNTERPARTS.
The advanced chassis design, augmented by 3D scanning and CAD technology, is a perfect replacement for the aged factory frame. While designed for use by do-it-yourself enthusiasts, many leading professional constructors have come to rely on AME GT Sport chassis for award-winning builds. Engineered to provide corner-carving handling and a great ride, the beefy 2-inch-by-6-inch main-rail chassis features an AME Sport IFS with heavy-duty control arms, an adjustable sway bar, coilover shocks and power rack-and-pinion steering. The rear suspension features a Johnny Joint-equipped four-bar, Panhard bar, coilovers and adjustable sway bar. A choice of two different ride heights is offered: a “standard” stance that requires no modifications or a much lower stance that necessitates raising the bed floor 3 inches. Other key features include through-frame exhaust passages for optimum ground clearance, and fuel tank mounts behind the 9-inch housing that helps with overall balance of the vehicle. Body mounts and core support are also included. Available with mounts for small block, big block or Ls-series Chevy engines, plus virtually any popular standard or automatic transmission, this is a great foundation for a resto-mod classic truck of the highest order.
