Campbell River Ocean Pacific Marine Supply - two great locations making them the largest marine supply store on the North part on Vancouver Island.

Blind Channel Resort: {50° 24.50’ N, 125° 30.03’ W} This marina has been a must stop for generation­s of boaters. Moorage, power, water, gas, diesel, propane, lodging, provisions, post office, accommodat­ions, Wifi, liquor, showers, laundry, restaurant (licensed dining), patio lunch, hiking trails.

Dent Island Lodge, Resort and Marina is widely known to the boating community who frequent the Stuart Island and Sonora Island area. The marina offers excellent, protected moorage for yachts up to 42 m (140 ft).

Beach Gardens Marina Resort offers 90 boat berths, waterfront rooms, cold beer and wine store and a waterfront restaurant/ lounge.

Egmont has marina services and accommodat­ions available at Bathgate Resort & Marina complex and Backeddy Resort & Marina. Also home to Sunshine Coast Tours, West Coast Wilderness Lodge and Inlets Restaurant.

French Creek - the boat harbour is protected by a rock breakwater. Public floats, marine facilities, garbage and oil disposal, restaurant and haulouts.

Qualicum Beach - has a marine service station in Qualicum Bay between the entrance of Qualicum River & Nile Creek.

Denman Island - ferry is in Buckley Bay, the village is on the east side in Baynes Sound, post office and store. Hornby Island has a 3 tonne crane on the public float, also post office, motel, stores, campsite and launching ramp.

Courtenay has a public float, diesel, gasoline, repairs and all you would find in a larger city. Comox is the home of the Canadian Forces Base (airfield) and is in an area of prime farmland.

Campbell River - Called the “Salmon Capital of the World”, - sport fishermen come from all over the world to practice their skills. Discovery Passage is the most used passage between Quadra Island and Vancouver Island. Seymour Narrows is 3.2 km (2 mi) long and Ripple Rock in the centre causes very hazardous water. Only pass at or near slack water especially if towing someone or if your vessel has lower amount of power.

This group of Islands form the entrance to Desolation Sound and the Discovery Islands - Quadra Island - named after the Spanish explorer Quadra - public floats and marina facilities. Read Island has a store and post office with a 37 m (121 ft) public float protected from most winds. Cortes Island, West and East Redonda Islands. Marina Island has sandy beaches with large boulders. Mink Island with several drying rocks that lie close off shore at the NE end.

Homfray Channel - tide seldom exceed 1 1/2 km and is separated by East Redonda Island from the mainland. Toba Inlet leads 32 km (20 mi) NE to the sand and mud flat estuary of the Toba River at its head.

Malaspina Inlet - it is very popular for small crafts cruising the area, and can be entered from Desolation Sound between Myrmindon Point and Zephine Head. Okeover Inlet is a must for a cruising destinatio­n. It has marina facilities and a public wharf.

Lund - marinas, stores, hotel, marine repair. A 3 tonne crane on the public wharf, power and water on the floats. Islands in front of Lund are Hernando Island, named after Hernando Cortes, passage between Hernando & Savary Islands is not recommende­d. Savary Island has a small public float and is known for its beautiful beaches. Copeland Islands is the “Copeland Islands Marine Park” and they are known as Ragged Islands by the locals.

10. Powell River is the largest community on the Sunshine Coast with galleries, shops, restaurant­s and accommodat­ions. Westview is the home of the Canadian Coast Guard year-round station.

11. Texada Island is 43 km (27 mi) long by 8 km (5 mi) wide and separates the Strait of Georgia from the Malispina Strait where tidal streams seldom exceed 1 km (.6 mi). Harwood Island at the north end and Lasqueti Island to the south end is 14.5 km (9 mi) long and 6.5 km (4 mi) wide.

12. Agamemnon Channel is the fastest and shortest way to get to Egmont and Princess Louisa Inlet. Hotham Sound - extends for 10 km (6 mi) and is too deep for anchorage. Alternate route is entering through Jervis Inlet on the north side of Nelson Island.

13. Egmont is a vibrant community with two marinas, great dining, accommodat­ions, stores. The public wharf is equipped with a 3 tonne derrick plus garbage and oil disposal are available at the wharfhead. World famous Skookumchu­ck Narrows forms the entrance to Sechelt Inlet. Tricky but safe passage through the narrows is on either side of the Sutton Islets.
