What’s app?
Each of these watches has an accompanying smartphone and desktop app
The Polar Flow desktop app is user-friendly. It offers an inviting training plan and, with just one trackpad click, it replays your workout as a film. It’s not Oscar-bothering, but a 3D map, incorporating photos, brings your training run back to life. Impressive and fun.
Suunto’s MovesCount apps lack a daily step count, but you can analyse your workouts in serious detail, with maps, heart-rate charts, VO2, recovery time and much more. The community isn’t very full as yet (ditto Polar’s) – but you can sync direct to Strava.
In Garmin Connect, the detail of the sleep monitoring will horrify new parents, but elsewhere it’s not as detailed as the Ambit3’s app.
