Find love using wearable tech

Looking for real love? Well, Once, the free dating app with over 100,000 active users, has a heart-rate function to help you find The One

Technology grows more advanced each day, but can it help us find love? Dating app Once (getonce.com) reckons it can. The app, which has over 100,000 users, has unveiled a new feature to help you find romance.

Backed by human matchmakers, Once provides users with a ‘highly targeted’ match each day at noon. This means you’ll have 24 hours to message your potential mate. But don’t worry if it goes pear-shaped – you’ll still receive a new daily match.... just in case.

“Our research shows that a positive match will have an impact on the user’s heart rate, and we thought it would be an excellent idea to integrate wearable technology into our app,” says Jean Meyer, CEO of Once.

Compatible with Fitbit and Android Wear devices that measure heart rate, Once can flag up if your daily match is enough to get your ticker racing. “It helps our human matchmakers to better understand what type of person triggers a positive reaction based on first sight,” says Jean.

A premium version of the app, Once Infinite (£7.99), gives you a range of extra features and even greater insight into your potential match.
