Sony PlayStation Pro

Hey, where’s my PlayStation Neo?
You’re looking at it. Maybe. The PlayStation Pro is widely thought to have previously been called the Neo, but we reckon the name Pro better represents some of the more powerful features this sleek-looking console is packing.
Oh yeah? What are they?
The Pro has a bigger internal hard drive (1TB) than the standard PS4, along with twice the GPU power, so it can drive games at 4K res. Also, when you’re playing a game with PS4 Pro features, the Share button on the DualShock 4 controller can generate higher-res gameplay clips and screenshots compared to the standard PS4. You can also broadcast gameplay at higher settings.
What about movies?
The Pro is HDR-capable but can’t play Ultra 4K Blu-rays. The Blu-ray Disc Player app, however, supports upscaling of DVDs and Blu-rays, and 4K media streaming from apps like Netflix falls under the Pro’s remit.
Will it play my PS4 games?
Aye! You can also copy your games, screenshots and saved data, etc, from your PS4 to the Pro using an ethernet cable.
What about VR?
The Pro is built to handle the PlayStation VR, just like the standard PS4. Sony reckons the Pro’s enhanced processing power supports higher-quality games graphics and smoother framerates.
Cool. When is it coming out?
The Sony PlayStation Pro is available from 10 November.
